Nikole is in her second year in the Masters in Geography program. She was born and raised in the Los Angeles area, but left town seconds after graduating high school. In 2003, she graduated from Western Washington University's Huxley College with a B.A. in Geography: Environmental Resource Management. Nikole enjoys long walks on Washington beaches in January, identifying and reciting the names of facultative and obligate wetland plants, traveling around the country with her buddy and pet rock, and foam parties. She makes every attempt to not take herself or life too serious and to enjoy the little moments

I am a second-year Geography grad student and a first-year Environmental Studies grad student, doing two at once, so let the good times roll! My main research in both Geography and Environmental Studies is in Bioregionalism, the idea of “living in place”; it is a way to understand the complexities of ecosystems as they relate to regional culture. I am also very interested in Organic Farming, Environmental Ethics/Action, and “back to the land” movements.

My name is Christy, and I am a native Montanan. As geography goes, I am currently an undergrad with a planning option. Outside of geography, I am also a graphic designer. I like to snowboard, Frisbee-golf and anything recreational having to do with water. I also love to travel and eventually want to visit every continent.
